A man of God, a man of grace,
In Him we saw a servant's face

A man of detail, of spiritual depth
Who knew the length and height and breadth,

A gentle man, a humble soul,
to please His Lord, his daily goal,

Whatever his course he was always content,
Showing to all what true faith meant.

Casual in dress, but formal in desire,
Deep within was a heart on fire.

A loving husband, a wonderful dad,
A son who made his parents glad.

A caring friend, a willing hand,
Always ready to take a stand.

A mighty warrior has finished his fight
And gone to the place where there is no night.

Now with His King Eternal, Immortal,
Welcomed in through heaven's portal -

From there he shouts, "My friends, rejoice -
To be with Jesus, what better choice?

"My heavenly life has just begun.
My fight is over, the victory's won!"

Now to the King eternal,
immortal, invisible, the only God,
be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Immediately after he died, Mom took his arm and quietly listened to the song Canaan Bound by Andrew Peterson:

Sarah, take me by my arm
Tomorrow we are Canaan bound
Where westward sails the golden sun
And Hebron's hills are amber crowned

So bid your troubled heart be still
The grass, they say, is soft and green
The trees are tall and honey-filled
So, Sarah, come and walk with me

Like the stars across the heavens flung
Like water in the desert sprung
Like the grains of sand, our many sons
Oh, Sarah, fair and barren one
Come to Canaan, come

I trembled at the voice of God
A voice of love and thunder deep
With love He means to save us all
And Love has chosen you and me

Long after we are dead and gone
A thousand years our tale be sung
How barren Sarah bore a son
So come to Canaan come

Where westward sails the golden sun
And Hebron's hills are amber crowned
Oh, Sarah, take me by my arm
Tomorrow we are Canaan bound

He is only passing through...

The Sojourner

Many things we thought would never change...they are no longer the same.
Some things we thought would always be with us...they are fading away.

Each day he looks less and less a part of this world...
